On Saturday, October 13, 2018, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm, The National Building Museum will be holding their Annual Community Day. Local #10 has been a part of bringing our trade to this family themed day and showing moms, dads, and, most of all, the children how our trade works. Jimmy Demmel, with Elevator Industry Work Preservation Fund (EIWPF) is looking for members who would be interested in helping at the IUEC booth on this day. He will be setting up an interactive display that attendees will be able to get involved with and ask any questions they may have. You can call Tammie, at the Union Hall, to sign up to help. Jimmy will then contact you about meeting and going down to the museum to set up. Jimmy also has a limited number of admission tickets available on a first come first serve basis. This would be a great opportunity for your children to see, first hand, how parts of an elevator work. They could see exactly what daddy/mommy does as part of their career and ask any questions they may have been curious about. The Big Build introduces kids and adults to a wide range of building skills, while educating them in planning, creating, constructing, and improving the places where we live, work and play. Please contact Tammie if you would like to get involved. The National Building Museum Big Build Flyer is attached below so you can print it out if you would like to have it.
